3 Reasons Why You Would Want to be Trapped with The Escape Artist

0

Escape room games seem to be in trend these days in Singapore. One of the pioneers in the business is The Escape Artist, which in fact is the first escape room company to set up in Singapore. The Escape Artist is a local company created by local Singaporeans for Singaporeans, and all the concepts, games and plots are ingeniously created from scratch. It presents participants the experience of being trapped in a room with interesting games and plots to solve within 50 minutes.

You may be wondering, why one would even bother expending your brain cells to crack puzzles on a weekend? Here are three reasons why you would:

1. Interesting plots, concepts and puzzles await you

I got the chance to test out one of the latest rooms at The Escape Artist that has an entirely new concept from their usual rooms. Initially, I had thought I would be trapped in ONE single room and be solving puzzles within that room alone. However, I was taken aback that after one puzzle was solved, the story continued to expand and the plot thickened.

However, armed with that “single room” mentality in mind, my friends and I ended up taking a slightly longer time to complete the first scenario. With so much more awaiting us and the clock ticking, we grew frantic. What’s more, I would say that the puzzles were not that simple to crack. We really had to think out of the box or minimally, have an extremely clear state of mind to think.

2. Cool technology and props

I really liked how the atmosphere of the rooms at the Escape Artist strongly correspond with the storyline presented. Our room had more of a “pirate ship” vibe to it – there were well-designed swords, flags and treasure boxes all hidden within it. Whatever goes with the theme, you can find it.

To further enhance the interactiveness of the games, advanced-looking locks and doors were introduced. I would love to reveal more but to avoid spoiling your experience there, I have to remain mum on the details. But rest assured, the atmosphere is different – almost as though you are transported to another place in that 50 minutes alone.

3. Great sense of achievement

As we had spent almost more than an hour (we exceeded the time limit!) cracking our heads on the puzzles, it was a great relief when the exit door finally opened. Knowing that our brain juices were all put to good use was probably the best feeling ever.

While this activity is not the conventional lazy activity I usually go for, I had no regrets signing up for it. In fact, with the company of great friends, this made my weekend way more fun and memorable. With its well-designed props, advanced technology and uniquely created storylines and concepts, I would strongly recommend those who have yet to try this to experience it for themselves. Even after having experienced one room, I simply cannot wait to explore more of the other challenging rooms.

Stay tuned for more exciting events coming up from The Escape Artist – there will be mass event happening in collaboration with The National Library Board this September with entry price ranging from S$20 to S$25/ pax. To find out more, check out their Facebook page closer to date.
