Jiak by the Quay Brings Local Flavours, Homegrown Brands and Pet-Friendly Fun to Clarke Quay

This August, CQ @ Clarke Quay is turning up the flavour with the inaugural Jiak by the Quay, a two-day food festival celebrating Singapore’s vibrant and diverse culinary scene.

Taking place at Fountain Square on 22 and 23 August 2026, from 3pm to 10pm, the event will bring together more than 20 restaurants, homegrown businesses and pet-friendly brands. Visitors can look forward to festival-exclusive dishes, locally inspired drinks, creative workshops and live entertainment, all set against the lively backdrop of the Singapore River.

More than simply another food festival, Jiak by the Quay aims to spotlight the community behind the destination. The line-up spans established restaurants and bars at CQ @ Clarke Quay, as well as independent homegrown businesses making their first appearance at a physical event.

At the heart of the festival is a line-up of dishes that reinterpret familiar Singapore flavours in playful and unexpected ways.

Chupitos will give its signature shooters a nostalgic local makeover with Milo, Paddle Pop, bandung and pandan flavours, priced at $12 for a pair. The bar will also serve Singapore-inspired Loaded Chips from $12.

Fans of Korean food can head to Hanjip for its Chilli Crab Tteokbokki ($14), which combines Korea’s much-loved chewy rice cakes with one of Singapore’s most iconic sauces. Other options include Kimchi Cheese Fries ($14) and Korean Mandu ($12).

Home Dawn & Dusk will present a Singapore Laksa Linguine ($14), alongside a Cream Cracker Tiramisu ($8.90) that puts a local spin on the classic Italian dessert.

Meanwhile, Korio by Zouk Group will translate the flavours of beef rendang and nasi lemak into its signature sandwiches. Look out for the Brisket Beef Rendang Sandwich ($14) and Local Chook ($14), followed by a Kaya Sea Salt Doughnut ($4) for dessert.

Another intriguing creation comes from Level Up, whose Indomie Toastie ($7) layers fried chicken, a runny fried egg and springy Indomie noodles between slices of toasted sourdough. A generous helping of homemade sambal completes the indulgent snack.

Geylang Claypot Rice will offer a portable take on its viral Beef and Bone Marrow Claypot Rice with its Beef and Bone Marrow Fried Rice ($10), while Milkfish & Broth will serve its Grilled Milkfish Belly Rice Bowl ($10) with a choice of soy glaze or signature Nyonya sauce.

Red House Seafood, which marks its 50th anniversary this year, is also joining the festivities. Its exclusive dish features hand-peeled crab meat in the restaurant’s signature chilli crab sauce, accompanied by an adorable golden crab-shaped mantou, all for $12.

For a French interpretation of local flavours, The Plump Frenchman will serve dishes such as the Rillettes de Saumon with acar cucumber ($10) and Toastie au Pied de Porc with homemade chilli sauce ($8). Wildseed Café will add to the selection with Sesame Chicken Wings ($16++) and a Gula Melaka Latte ($7++).

Discover Homegrown Food Businesses

Jiak by the Quay will also provide a platform for a selection of independent and homegrown brands.

Elephant Grounds will reimagine traditional kueh as an Ondeh-Ondeh Ice Cream Sandwich ($10), made with pandan cookies, gula melaka ice cream and toasted coconut flakes.

Hippopotato will showcase its freshly made Swiss rösti with locally inspired combinations, including Laksa Béchamel Prawn Rösti and Salted Egg Shoestring Fries, with items priced from $4 to $9.

Those with a sweet tooth can visit Sweedy for its colourful Fatcarons inspired by flavours such as ondeh-ondeh and kaya toast. The patisserie will also offer Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cups and Dubai Chewy Cookies in original and kaya toast flavours.

The East Social, founded by two Singaporean chefs who returned home after working overseas, will introduce its Otah Parker Roll Toast ($18), pairing a European-style bread roll with the bold, spicy flavours of local otah.

The festival will also mark Rangu’s first physical pop-up and the launch of a new Asian aperitif featuring bright citrus flavours. Visitors will be among the first to sample the drink and purchase a bottle.

A Festival for Furkids Too

Pet owners will not have to leave their furkids at home. Jiak by the Quay will feature a dedicated selection of pet-friendly vendors and treats created especially for four-legged visitors.

Bailey & Patch Café will serve Pet Cai Fan ($9.80) and pet-friendly gelato ($7.80), while Lunavae Pets will offer Luxe Abalone Pet Siew Mai ($3.80 each) and Mao Shan Wang Durian Meaty Mooncakes ($12 each).

Other fun options include Providog’s Nasi LeBARK, available with pork, duck or lamb from $8, and bird’s nest drinks and pet-friendly ang ku kueh from The Pet Provision.

On Sunday, 23 August, Lunavae Pets will conduct complimentary workshops where owners can learn to make pet-friendly ondeh-ondeh and popiah. Participation can be redeemed with a minimum spend of $20 in a single receipt at participating outlets or festival booths.

Art, Music and Hands-On Activities

Beyond eating and drinking, visitors can take part in a programme of creative activities throughout the weekend.

Clay Clay Pottery will conduct pottery-painting sessions on Saturday, while North Yeast Line will host edible cookie-painting workshops across both days. These workshops may be redeemed with a minimum spend of $20 in a single receipt.

Artist Khaitama D. Sun of Playnting will also roam the festival grounds from 6pm to 9pm on both days, creating complimentary miniature canvas paintings inspired by visitors’ favourite Singapore dishes. Only 50 drawings will be available each day.

Live performances by local acts Roseville and Syakirah will bring familiar favourites and crowd-pleasing hits to the riverside, followed by feel-good music sets from DJ Valerie.

Those who miss the festival weekend will still have a chance to sample selected festival-exclusive creations at participating CQ @ Clarke Quay restaurants until 13 September 2026.
