Shake Shack has dropped its first limited-time burgers of 2026, with the launch of its French Onion Menu that runs until 31 March 2026. In a nod to the comforting, homely goodness of French Onion Soup, the burger chain’s new lineup brings together the indulgent flavours of Gruyère cheese, caramelised onions and garlic parmesan, and also adds Onion Rings for the first-time ever to its repertoire.
The headliner of this limited offer is the French Onion Soup burger (S$11.80), where you can expect a made-to-order quarter-pound per patty 100% Angus beef patty topped with Gruyère cheese, caramelised onions, crispy sweet onions, and roasted garlic parmesan aioli on a toasted potato bun. This is available as a single, double (S$15.70) or triple (S$19.60) patty burger.
Shake Shack typically looks out for vegetarians, and indeed does not disappoint this time with the French Onion ‘Shroom Burger (S$13.80), which replaces the beef patty with a crisp-fried portobello mushroom instead, and the Gruyère with melted Monterey Jack, Tilsiter and Colby cheeses.
We love meat as much as we love mushrooms and could neither pass up on the juiciness and umami of portobello nor the awesomeness of Angus! Fortunately these twin loves are reunited in the French Onion Shack Stack (S$18.20). This ‘full-stack’ burger combines the quarter-pound beef patty with the ‘Shroom burger, incorporating all the works of Gruyere, caramelised onions and roasted garlic parmesan aioli in the potato bun. It was juicy and crispy all at once, with our mouths struggling to ensnare all the goodness of this hefty burger and its juices, which flowed liberally down our chins.
Another limited-time only item is Parmesan Garlic Fries (S$7.50), crispy crinkle cuts dusted with parmesan cheese served with a side of roasted garlic parmesan aioli. Going along with the flavour of the day, I decided to skip the fries to continue with my onion obsession in the form of the burger joint’s first-ever Onion Rings (S$6.80), beer-battered onion rings made from sliced sweet Spanish onions served with a sour cream dipping sauce. The six thick and crisp rings were sliced large enough to outshine their batter and you would be delighted to know that it will be a permanent item on the menu going forward.
For drinks, go for the new Tangerine Lemonade (S$5.70), a refreshing house-made lemonade blended with tangerine puree, its blend of refreshing acidity making a perfect pairing for the burger indulgence just prior.
With the exception of the Onion Rings, all items in Shake Shack’s French Onion Menu will only be available until 31 March. You’ll want to try this one while you can!
