Car brands in Singapore have been pushing the envelop of unforgettable car launches lately, and Volt Auto, the official distributor for Dongfeng in Singapore, might have just upped the game.
On 18 October 2025, under the campaign banner “UNLOCKED: 007 with Jessica Jung,” Volt Auto unveiled the Dongfeng 007, its next-generation electric sedan, at a high-profile launch event held at Funan Mall. While the car’s specifications are already impressive (more on that below), what truly made this launch stand out was the presence of Jessica Jung, the international superstar specially flown in by Volt Auto to grace the event.

The Dongfeng 007 launch comes just a little over a year after Dongfeng made its debut in Singapore with the Dongfeng Box. While the Box positioned itself as a compact budget electric vehicle (EV) with premium features — and has since gone on to become Singapore’s best-selling compact electric vehicle — the 007 is an entirely different beast.

The Dongfeng 007 is best described as a supercar in a family sedan’s clothing. With the latest Dongfeng intelligence features, 0-100km/hr sprint of 3.9 seconds, a range of up to 650km and a fast charging time of just 9 minutes, the Dongfeng 007 is ideal for someone who wants elegance, excitement and intelligence.
“The Dongfeng 007 is not just a car — it’s a symbol of luxury, boldness, intelligence, and future mobility. Jessica embodies those same qualities, and her presence helped us tell that story in a truly unforgettable way,” remarked Soh Ming, Founder and Managing Director of Volt Auto.

On top of impressive specifications, the Dongfeng 007 is also built to high standards. At its manufacturing facility in Wuhan, critical processes such as glass, windshield, and sunroof installation, gluing, and inspection are all carried out by precision robots. These systems not only check for proper alignment and gaps but also detect air bubbles in the adhesive layers to ensure long-term durability and finish.
For every car that leaves the factory, over 1,832 individual inspection points are used as part of the quality assurance process. Most impressively, 100% of vehicles undergo a full dynamic road test, including flood-resistance testing of up to 40cm water depth, before they are approved for storage and delivery.

At the event, Volt Auto also shared some of its future plans, including expanding into the Malaysia market in 2026 and plans to establish a knock-down (KD) assembly plant in Malaysia in 2026. This may lead to more localisation possibilities for Dongfeng electric vehicles in the near future.
Volt Auto is also working on bringing more exciting models to Singapore.
