Shake Shack Opens in the West

Westies, rejoice! Shake Shack has opened its eighth outlet at Westgate.

Located on level 1 of Westgate, the new Shake Shack outlet has an eye-catching exterior with its signature brightly lit logo and fancy-looking tables and chairs, which remind me of the beach. The iconic brand colours of green and black feature extensively in the restaurant down to the smallest details such as paper sheets on its food trays.

Upon entering the new outlet, one can’t help but notice the wall murals that adorn the walls. The vibrant wall murals are actually the works of Singaporean visual artists Ink and Clog Studio. Abstract forms, shapes and lines are encapsulated in the artwork.

Inspired by Shake Shack’s fine-casual dining concept where premium ingredients meet with their roadside burger DNA, the Black Truffle menu (launched first at this outlet) features three crowd-favourites with a truffle twist. This menu will be available first at Shake Shack Westgate from 30 October 2021, and then at all other Shacks from 4 November to 31 December 2021.

A must-try, the Black Truffle Burger (singe: S$14; double: S$17.50) comprises a juicy Angus beef patty and melted cheese, topped with a generous amount of truffle, fried onion shallots and green veggies.

The Black Truffle Chick’n (S$14) had a tender chicken patty, well-seasoned with a peppery kick. The black truffle mayo and tangy pickled shallots go well with the burger.

Last but not least, the Black Truffle Fries (S$8.90) completes the meal. It is topped with black truffle mayo sauce, fried shallots and scallions – guaranteed to please any truffle fan.

Exclusive to Shake Shack Westgate is the Peelin’ Cherry-fic concrete, a re-inspiration of the classic banana split. Featuring a vanilla and chocolate custard base, the concrete is a blend of fresh bananas, caramel sauce, crunchy sugar cone shards and Lemuel chocolate chunks by home-grown Singaporean bean-to-bar chocolate maker, Ronald Ng. Topped with a cherry, the Peelin’ Cherry-fic concrete balances rich chocolatey flavours and fruity aromas.
