For the seventh year in a row, innisfree is bringing back its Eco-Handkerchief Campaign. First launched in 2010, the Eco-Handkerchief Campaign is one of innisfree’s many initiatives to get customers involved in saving the planet through daily actions.

Knowing the amount of waste generated each year from the use of disposable paper towels and tissues, innisfree released a line of stylish handkerchiefs for their large consumer base, targeting our everyday habits of wiping and cleaning. It has collaborated with various celebrities and designers to innovate and create a variety of limited edition designs, to encourage going green, while staying in style. The versatile hankie finds its way into many parts of our lives, be it a hair accessory or an added touch to your handbag, truly embodying the idea of “reduce, reuse, and recycle” that keeps our Mother Earth clean and green for us all.

Innisfree, the first natural beauty brand in Korea, stands out among its competitors for its eco-consciousness, and promises to use only reliable ingredients – obtained from natural sources – in its beauty products, coupled with eco-friendly packaging and design.

2016’s limited edition Eco-Handkerchief Campaign designs, paying tribute to the Jeju Haenyeo.

This year, in 2016, innisfree’s designs pay tribute to the mermaids of Jeju Island – the Jeju Haenyeo. The Eco-Handkerchief Campaign features three separate designs in shades of blue that depict the crystal waters of Jeju Island. It places emphasis on the famous sights of Jeju, the Jeju Haenyeo, women divers of the sea, swimming alongside Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins that join their underwater adventures.

The Jeju Haenyeo have been around for a few decades, known for their physical and mental tenacity as they dive deep into treacherous waters to harvest seaweed and shellfish such as clams and abalone. These divers accomplish their amazing feats without the use of any breathing equipment, doing so by hand, earning them the reputation of safeguarding marine life. At present, the Jeju Haenyeo are seen as guardians of the Korean seas, carefully protecting the ocean ecology.

One of innisfree’s best-selling products, the green tea seed cream comes with a revamped packaging featuring the blue of Jeju Island’s waters.

The Eco-Handkerchief Campaign’s tagline, “Use a Hankie, Save the Earth” can be found on the handkerchiefs as well. Innisfree continues to reaffirm its commitment to saving our planet, and will give away a complimentary Eco-Handkerchief to customers with purchases of S$30 and above for the whole month of June.

At the same time, innisfree’s four-best selling products now come with a limited edition packaging that stars the Jeju Haenyeo and sights of the Jeju Sea. These products include The Green Tea Seed Serum (160ml, S$48), The Green Tea Seed Cream, (100ml, S$46), Water Glow Cushion, (15g, S$34) and Long Wear Cushion (15g, S$34).
