It was a weekend jam-packed with three days of action, with SA Sevens Academy from South Africa claiming their Albitt Cup, thrashing the Penguins in a thrilling final at Padang.

The SA Sevens Academy raced to put the game to bed with a 36-5 win against the Penguins, who had earlier upset 2014 defending champion Borneo Eagles in the semi-finals. Rosco Speckman was the night’s top try scorer, bringing his total tally to 10 for the tournament, whilst captain Kyle Brown (one try), Justin Geduld (two tries) and IRB World Sevens Player of the Year Cecil Afrika (one try) also scored tries for South Africa. The only try scored for the Penguins was by captain Will Hafu.
