Get ready for a flavour-packed celebration as Yum Cha rolls out an irresistible menu to honour Singapore’s 60th birthday. From now until 31 August 2025, both Yum Cha outlets – in Chinatown and Changi Business Park – are serving up eight limited-edition dim sum and dishes at just S$6 each. Inspired by iconic local dishes, these delightful bites are not only wallet-friendly but also steeped in nostalgia and local pride.
To mark SG60, Yum Cha’s chefs have taken inspiration from beloved Singaporean classics and transformed them into creative Cantonese-style dim sum. Here’s a taste of what’s on the table:
1. Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao
The traditional Shanghainese soup dumpling gets a peppery local twist. Yum Cha’s version is filled with a slow-cooked herbal pork broth that takes 16 hours to prepare, finished with goji berries and served with dark soy sauce and chilli. A comforting hug in dumpling form.
2. Crusty Chilli Crab Bao
Singapore’s most famous seafood dish reimagined – crispy on the outside, these golden buns are stuffed with juicy chunks of crab meat and rich chilli crab sauce, topped with an adorable crab-shaped crust. No shelling required.
3. Handmade Otak-Otak Siew Mai
Southeast Asian spices, creamy coconut milk, and the unmistakable aroma of otak-otak shine in this reinvented siew mai. Swathed in spinach skin and finished with black tobiko, it’s a mini mouthful of heritage and flavour.
4. Laksa Rice Flour Roll
Say hello to the ultimate chee cheong fun upgrade. This triple-layered creation features a crispy rice net and silky rice roll wrapped around a flavour-packed filling of chicken, shrimp, crabmeat, and dried shrimp. Drenched in house-made laksa gravy and garnished with Tau Pok and Fish Cake, it’s a textural and aromatic triumph.
5. Satay Fried Rice
A nod to Singapore’s smoky satay stalls, this wok-fried rice is spiced with turmeric and peanut oil, and served with two juicy chicken satay sticks. Accompaniments like cucumber, pineapple, tomato and pine nuts complete the flavour parade.
6. Prata Pork Pancake
Two favourites – prata and Chinese pork pancakes – come together in this savoury treat. Flaky prata wraps around spiced minced pork before being pan-fried to golden perfection. Crispy, juicy, and dangerously addictive.
7. Kaya Bolo Bao
A Singapore breakfast classic, reimagined. Yum Cha’s signature pineapple bun (bolo bao) gets filled with fragrant kaya and a slab of butter. Soft, sweet, and sinfully satisfying.
8. Kopi Gao Bao
Coffee lovers, rejoice. Teaming up with local coffee brand Coffee Hock, Yum Cha presents a pillowy bao bursting with bold Kopi Gao. Expect deep, roasty notes in every bite of this sweet and fluffy creation.
