Raise your glasses – California Wine Month is back in Singapore for its third annual celebration, and it’s pouring with promise. From 1 to 30 June 2025, wine lovers across the island can savour the sun-kissed spirit of the Golden State through a series of exclusive tastings, enticing retail promotions, and premium wine experiences across more than 100 online and physical retail touchpoints.

Since its debut in Singapore in 2022, California Wine Month has become a firm favourite among both connoisseurs and casual drinkers. This year’s edition invites us to immerse ourselves in the Californian “Golden State of Mind” – a celebration of boldness, optimism, innovation and sustainability that underpins the region’s distinctive wine culture.

As the world’s fourth-largest wine-producing region and home to over 6,200 wineries, California is celebrated for its rich diversity and exceptional quality. With more than 110 grape varieties cultivated across its varied terroirs, the state produces 81% of all U.S. wine and over 95% of U.S. wine exports to Asia – a reflection of its enduring international appeal.

Here in Singapore, wine enthusiasts can look forward to a month-long showcase of Californian charm. Participating retailers – including RedMart, FairPrice, Cellarbration, Enoteca, Bottles & Bottles, 75cl and Wine Hours – are rolling out a series of exclusive offers and discounts on a broad range of wines. Expect everything from crisp Pinot Grigios to bold Cabernets and luscious Zinfandels, all curated to bring a taste of California to your table.

Sip, sample, savour

The festivities begin with free guided tastings at FairPrice Finest outlets islandwide, held from 13 to 15 and 20 to 22 June, between 12pm and 8pm. Led by knowledgeable promoters, these sessions offer shoppers the opportunity to try a variety of labels before selecting their favourites to take home.

Wine lovers seeking a more curated experience should head to 75cl.sg on 14 June for a complimentary tasting featuring selections such as Sand Point Pinot Grigio 2023 and LangeTwins Midnight Reserve 2017. From 23 to 27 June, boutique wine retailer Wine Hours will host intimate tasting sessions (S$20 per person) featuring celebrated vintages from J. Lohr, including the J. Lohr Pure Paso 2021 and Wildflower Valdiguié 2021.

Bottled sunshine on offer

Throughout June, wine aficionados can take advantage of exceptional promotions across an impressive array of Californian wines.

RedMart offers affordable favourites such as Seaglass Sauvignon Blanc and California Dream Pinot Grigio.

At 75cl, discover elegant pours like the Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Cabernet Sauvignon and the Langetwins Old Vine Zinfandel, crafted with minimal intervention and maximum character.

Malt and Wine Asia showcases opulent selections such as Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay and Coup de Foudre Lightning Bolt Cabernet – wines that push the boundaries of flavour.

Enoteca Singapore invites exploration with Freemark Abbey and the robust Mendocino Zinfandel from Edmeades, grown in the dramatic coastal mountains of northern California.

CellarBration features crowd-pleasers like Beaulieu Vineyard’s Tapestry Reserve Red and the jammy Beringer Main & Vine Cabernet Sauvignon.

Even FairPrice gets in on the action with approachable options such as Carlo Rossi’s easy-drinking reds and whites, as well as sparkling selections from J-Harden’s Prosecco DOC range.

Beyond the bottle: a sustainable mission

More than just a celebration of fine wines, California Wine Month underscores the region’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Today, 80% of California’s wines are produced in certified-sustainable wineries, and over half of the state’s vineyard acreage is now certified sustainable.

Christopher Beros, Director of the Wine Institute for Greater China and Southeast Asia, explains: “We want consumers to be aware of our sustainability efforts, and to join us in making choices that support a better future. It’s about creating wines that are as alive as the place they come from.”
