Art meets play, retail blends with creativity, and serpents slither their way into Funan’s latest artistic spectacle—Creative Intersections: Snakes and Ladders. Running from 17 January to 16 February 2025, this experiential exhibition is not just another art showcase. Oh no, it’s an interactive playground where culture, commerce, and creativity intertwine, celebrating both Singapore Art Week 2025 and the Lunar New Year.
Now in its fifth edition, this signature Funan campaign is curated by Justin Loke of Vertical Submarine, a name synonymous with thought-provoking, boundary-pushing art. This year’s theme, inspired by the Snake zodiac sign, symbolises creativity, transformation, and insight—all of which are embodied in the stunning array of exhibits and installations scattered across the mall.
Roll the Dice on Art and Retail
Unlike conventional exhibitions, Creative Intersections is an “art-meets-retail” initiative, with 15 local artists collaborating with 13 brands to transform Funan into a giant, interactive art space. You won’t find art confined to sterile gallery walls here—expect turntables turned into canvases, coffee cups decked in murals and gaming desks infused with artistic flair.
Among the new brands joining the fun this year are Audio-Technica, Dal.komm COFFEE, Dreame, Omnidesk, Sinpopo Brand, Skin Belief, The Green Collective, and The Pace—each bringing a unique artistic twist to their retail space.
Must-See Highlights
Funan isn’t just hosting an exhibition; it’s turning itself into a living, breathing art experience. Here are some unmissable highlights:

Six artistic snake installations embody Funan’s core passions—Chic, Craft, Fit, Play, Taste, and Tech—each strategically placed across the mall to encourage exploration. Think of it as a stylish snake hunt, minus the actual reptiles.
Kinetic Wall Animation – A Digital Spectacle
Funan’s seven-storey Kinetic Wall, a dazzling digital installation, will showcase “Dance like a boa, Swing like a bae”—a hypnotic animation by Umami Labo that reimagines the snake’s place in pop culture, from the Nokia Snake game to martial arts classics.
Fortune Snake Art Installation – The Lunar New Year Centrepiece
