FairPrice has long been a staunch supporter of local farmers and suppliers, selling their wares in its stores and enhancing their brand awareness and visibility. This is also consistent with Singapore’s ’30 by 30′ target, which intends to provide 30% of her nutritional needs locally by 2030, up from 10% currently.

To achieve this “30 by 30” target, NTUC FairPrice operates as an intermediary for local farmers. By listing and displaying local products in the various NTUC FairPrice stores, it allow consumers to readily acquire local produce. NTUC FairPrice promotes local farmers further by running numerous promotions throughout the year to highlight local produce, as well as having in-store POSMs to communicate the local produce. As a result, it creates demand for local harvest, providing an incentive for local farmers to boost their local production.
