OSIM unveiled its newest uLove massage chair recently to local celebrities and members of the media in an exclusive preview on 8 June. With a name like uLove, it was clear that OSIM wants people to fall in love with its latest offering. As I found out, it was hard not to do so.
During the preview, guests were whisked off into an “Experience Zone” private room for a multi-sensory experience with the uLove massage chair. In the dimly lit room, each of us took a seat on our assigned chair, helped by the chaperone attached to each guest.
I’ll be honest – I have never really liked the idea of massage chairs. Years ago, I got my parents an OSIM massage chair as a present and I never even sat on it once. Needless to say, I was apprehensive about trying the OSIM uLove.
My chaperone took the retractable remote control and began pressing a few buttons on it. The moment the session started, I was immediately caught by surprise. Music came on at both sides of my ears. That was when I realised the chair is equipped with an audio system. That, I must say, is a great idea – a chair that serenades to you; the aural treat really did set the stage for a relaxing time.
Guests are treated to a massage on the uLove at the Experience Zone private room.
The uLove is designed to give a pampering session from head to toe, with its 720° roller balls that rolls along every contour of the body. It offers a suite of massage programmes designed to effectively relieve tension in your body. Different programmes have different purposes. One particular programme named “Sweet Dreams” helps to prepare you for a restful night’s sleep while another one called “Beauty Indulgence” is designed for ladies to help tone and firm their bodies.
The uLove comes with an audio system that plays music as you enjoy the massage.
I took to the V-Hand Massage technology of the chair. A unique selling point of the uLove, the innovative V-Hand Massage emulates the hand-grip of a masseuse; it really felt like my shoulders were being kneaded by real hands! I also welcomed the foot massage; with my calves enveloped in plushy leather, the chair worked on my weary feet. I could feel the tiredness ease away with every “squeeze”.
The uLove massage chair, with its soft leather upholstery, was comfortable and cosy. Accompanied by the music playing at my ears, I felt relaxed during the session. I would have closed my eyes and sleep, if not for the fact that there were some 20 people in the same room. It felt all too soon when the 40-minute massage ended.
After the pampering session, guests were ushered to the “Lifestyle Zone” where we were given an introduction of the uLove. The uLove massage chair actually comes in four different colours – Dashing Copper, Gorgeous Teal, Handsome Brown and Charming Red. You can be sure to find one that suits the décor of your home.
