If you are a homeowner, chances are you’ve encountered this common problem – a leaky air-con. I’ve been there before, and have been (still am) guilty of taking air-con units at home for granted until they start dripping water. Amidst melting in the sweltering Singapore heat, I would then frantically start an online search for air-con service companies. Not pretty.
As I learned through experience, air-con servicing should be carried out from time to time; the recommended frequency is once every three months. Prevention is definitely better than cure and this is where an efficient air-con service company comes into the picture.
I recently engaged the services of @bsolute Aircon, a one-stop home services provider, to help with my home air-con servicing needs, and found that the company is different from previous air-con service companies I have used. You are probably thinking: air-con servicing is just air-con servicing, how different can it be? Well, as I found out, it can be.
Professional customer service
For starters, I got a call from a (very polite, I must add) customer service staff member of @bsoulte Aircon a day before my appointment as a reminder. I have not experienced that with any other air-con service companies.
Punctuality is important to me. Nothing irks me more than having to waste precious time waiting for contractors to turn up. So imagine the pleasant surprise I had when on the day of the appointment, the air-con technicians from @bsolute Aircon were not only on time, they in fact arrived slightly earlier before the appointment time.
I also did not expect two technicians to turn up for the appointment. Usually for air-con servicing with other companies, only one technician would be assigned. With an extra pair of hands, the air-con servicing was done in doubly quick time with more efficiency.
The technicians were friendly and professional. It was evident they know their stuff. When servicing the air-con unit in my brother’s room, the main technician took only one look at the unit and asked my brother, “You smoke in your room, is it?” — much to my amusement. He then offered some tips to my brother on how to maintain the air-con.
Another thing I noticed and appreciated is that the technicians actually took the extra step of laying our floor with plastic sheets to prevent the floor from getting dirty. It may be a small thing, but that small thing does set their service level apart from others.
Transparent and reasonable prices
For general servicing, @bsolute Aircon charges S$50 for one unit, S$40 per unit for two to four units, and S$35 per unit for five units and above. Granted, I may be able to find cheaper services elsewhere, but when it comes to air-con servicing, the cheapest is not always the best. The prices by @bsolute Aircon are reasonable to me and I have peace of mind knowing their technicians are 100% trained and experienced. There is even a 30-day warranty period after general servicing is done.
I also appreciate the fact that the technicians did not try to push additional unnecessary services to us. When I asked one of them how often air-con servicing should be done, he replied that usually it’s once every three months, and even added that the period can be longer if the air-con unit is not used every day.
A refreshing change
