International buffets used to be the typical Japanese, Italian and Chinese fare. If you are craving for new exotic flavours, you might like to head to Melt Café at Mandarin Oriental this week. Executive Chef Metin Isci from Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum has specially flown into town to bring you the best of Turkish cuisine.
The buffet’s Turkish delights features a variety of delectable dishes, such as İçli Köfte, bulgur sphere-shaped shells filled with minced beef, onions and walnuts, served alongside Acılı Ezme; a spicy tomato paste served with green chillies, and Humus; mashed Jerusalem chickpeas mixed with a refreshing dressing of tahini, lemon and olive oil. Meat lovers will find delight in the traditional lamb and beef grilled kebabs at the live station. Our favourite has got to be the delish Mediterranean sea bass wrapped and baked in a flaky salt crust.
Those who desire to sample Turkish delights will not be disappointed with the selection, which includes with the popular Turkish rice pudding, Fırın Sütlaç or the Sakızlı Muhallebi, a milky pudding dusted with light sugar.
To ensure that the flavours remain authentically Turkish, Chef Isci himself brought in all the spices, herbs and other special ingredients from Turkey, a testament to his commitment to quality.
The exquisite Turkish dishes are available at Melt Café till 12 March 2016. Lunch buffet is priced at S$62++ per person (Monday to Saturday), while dinner buffet is priced at S$78++ per person (Sunday to Wednesday) or S$88++ per person, inclusive of barbecue selections (Thursday to Saturday).
