Now There’s an Easier Way to Get Fresh Japanese Produce Delivered to Your Doorstep

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan, Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries hosted a Japanese Food Products promotion event that showcased the “Fresh and Direct!” service, otherwise known as ‘I ONLINE’ which delivers Japanese seasonal agricultural and fishery products to consumers in Singapore within six to 14 days after an order is made.

In order to maintain the standard of freshness, Japanese suppliers will deliver to consumers within four days after the order is processed. Through a collaboration with Isetan Singapore, Yamato Transport and ANA Cargo, greater opportunities for Singapore consumers to satisfy their cravings for Japanese produce have emerged.

A feast for the senses, Japanese produce is always carefully nurtured to appeal to both eyes and palate. Growers in Japan fully maximise the delicious qualities of the fruit, dedicating countless hours to research and basing their fruit growing activities upon this research. On top of that, the Japanese are also never in a hurry to harvest their fruits. Focusing on quality, they harvest only at the peak of seasonal ripeness on the basis of fruit size, weight, skin pattern and softness. Japan has also taken into consideration technological advancements, using it to ensure that their high-quality food is delivered at the best time for eating.

As of now, there is only one item listed under Isetan Japan Direct and it is the Fukuoka Amaou Strawberry priced at S$32 for 600g. Go wild with the variations you can achieve using the strawberries from Japan. Its natural sweetness makes it perfect for desserts like strawberry shortcake or a dessert that has a mochi-like texture, otherwise known as Strawberry Daifuku.
