Have you ever felt that you’re not getting the best deals when booking flights? You may have heard of that elusive “golden period” – that best time to book flights to get the best deal – but somehow, can never grasp it. Well, global travel search engine Skyscanner has the answer for you.

Following an analysis of three years’ worth of data, Skyscanner has found out that the best time to get the cheapest fares would be to book five months (or 20 weeks) in advance.

It has also discovered that the cheapest month to travel is September while the most expensive month to travel is, you’ve guessed it, December.

Skyscanner has also unveiled a list of the cheapest months to travel specific to top 10 travel destinations for Singaporeans:
