In case you have not heard, the famous butter cookies from Hong Kong’s Jenny Bakery are in Singapore. For a limited period from 14 to 27 September 2015, you’ll be able to get Jenny Bakery’s cookies at the Mid-Autumn Festival roadshow held at Junction 8 in Bishan.
Jenny Bakery first started as a normal bakery in Stanley, Hong Kong in 2005. It has since grown to be hugely popular for its butter cookies. Long queues are a common scene at Jenny Bakery stores in Hong Kong; people are known to queue for hours to get their hands on the melt-in-your-mouth cookies. As many as 6,000 tins are sold in a day in Hong Kong, with each customer allowed to buy only two tins each time. Needless to say, the Jenny Bakery booth in Singapore is seeing long queues daily and the cookies are sold out quickly before the end of each day.
The booth in Singapore only sells four cookie flavours – flower, coffee, shortbread and raisin oat – in small and large tins. The 4-Mix Butter Cookies are available in 320g (S$25) and 640g (S$45) tins, while the 2-Mix Cookies are only available in 640g (S$45) tins. You can also get the adorable Jenny Bakery soft toy bear for free if you purchase four tins of cookies, or for S$6 if you get a tin.
Fret not if you cannot get your hands on the cookies. Word has it that Jenny Bakery is looking to open an outlet in Singapore by the end of the year. We are crossing our fingers.
