Nestled in the heart of Trang, South Thailand, Kachong Hills Tented Resort offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort.
Our stay at this hidden gem earlier in June began with a night in the Exclusive Explorer Tent, a cosy, nature-immersed experience that truly allows you to disconnect from the hustle of daily life. This is as good as it gets for a glamping experience, complete with a panoramic view of the forested area through the full glass windows. There is even an outdoor bathtub for us to take a dip while appreciating the sights and sounds of the natural surroundings.
The following night, we transitioned to the Mountain View Deluxe Room, where we enjoyed a more contemporary and luxurious stay, complete with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The resort is enveloped in breathtaking natural beauty, including the serene Ka Chong Waterfall.
It presents an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility, offering a variety of accommodation options, from cluster tents with communal campfires to upscale glamping tents and modern hotel rooms.

Mornings at Kachong Hills are a treat, with a delightful breakfast spread featuring both Thai and international cuisines, served in the on-site Luk Lom Restaurant.
The resorts house several house farm animals, including a trio of friendly sheep that are accustomed to humans. Guests will have fun interacting with them over breakfast or while exploring the resort.
Kachong Hills Tented Resort is designed by the owner, who is a professional architect by training. His family owns the land on which the resorts sit and he drew his design inspirations from the lush surroundings of the Banthat mountain range.
The resort’s dedication to the environment and sustainability is evident in its practices, such as planting over 3,000 trees annually, using 100% solar energy, and promoting local employment to reduce carbon emissions. These efforts have earned it numerous accolades, including the Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating and the prestigious Thai Select Uniqe award for its culinary excellence.
Guests can immerse themselves in a range of activities, from forest bathing and coffee roasting to cycling and cultural experiences like learning about the traditional Manohra dance, a UNESCO-recognised heritage.
During our stay, we attended a Chinese tea appreciation workshop, followed by an exquisite dinner at Luk Lom Restaurant. The restaurant features a breathtaking view of the surrounding forested landscape and serves elevated Trang and Southern Thai cuisine.
These were the items we savoured during dinner, featuring a selection of the chef’s signature dishes. At the end of the meal, we were invited to customise our own sago dessert, guided along by the culinary team:
