Situated in a renovated mansion in the middle of Helsinki, the new NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa provides an exceptional fusion of contemporary comforts with the building’s rich history.
The property, which has been at the centre of Finnish culture and social life since the early 20th century, is comprised of two historically important buildings, the New Student House and Hotel Seurahuone. It is one of the best-preserved heritage properties in Helsinki.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Helsinki, just a short stroll away from the city’s best restaurants, shops, museums, and cultural attractions. Central location, interesting history, classic appeal, locally inspired cuisine, and outstanding service are all hallmarks of the NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa.
Setting the Bar in Hospitality
The NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa is the newest member of the NH Collection. This hotel is the second Nordic location for the NH Collection brand in the Nordic countries, after the 2021 premiere of the NH Collection Copenhagen in Denmark. It is also the first NH Collection hotel in Finland.
Seurahuone, the oldest continuously operated hotel in Helsinki, and the Art Nouveau-style New Student House, constructed in 1910, form NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa, creating an ideal environment for memorable experiences. Seurahuone relocated to its present site in 1913 from its original 1833 site on the market square.
For decades, the structure set the bar for culture, social life, and hospitality in Helsinki, taking design cues from Europe’s most prestigious hotels. Now, as the first NH Collection hotel in Finland, the property carries on its illustrious tradition of hospitality following a meticulous restoration and makeover that honours its heritage. The modern traveler’s propensity for luxury and pleasure is embraced by the NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa, while the rich tradition of its surroundings is preserved.
Within the historic walls, visitors can find 224 rooms and suites that provide contemporary comfort and elegance, including a lavish presidential suite measuring 160 square meters. Central Railway Station, which connects trains to and from Helsinki Airport, is less than three minutes’ walk from the hotel, which is located in the middle of the city. The NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa is conveniently located on a popular shopping street, making it easy to reach the city’s top restaurants and cultural institutions like the Ateneum, Kiasma, and Amos Rex Art Museum.
