During the recently held 2024 World Car Awards, the Kia EV9 won not one, but two prestigious titles. The EV9 was unveiled at a live announcement at the World Car Awards ceremony held at the New York Auto Show, receiving the accolades of “World Electric Vehicle” and “World Car of the Year” for 2024.

The Kia EV9 was awarded at the World Car Awards for its unique design, roomy cabin that can accommodate seven people, and affordable price tag by a panel of 100 renowned automotive journalists from 29 different nations. For enhanced performance, the EV9 is the first Kia to use fourth-generation battery technology, which is based on the E-GMP platform.

The World Car Awards have been honouring outstanding achievements in the dynamic automotive sector since their inception in 2003 and are universally recognised as the gold standard for automotive leadership and excellence. Before the 2024 event, Kia had already won three World Car Awards: in 2020, for the Telluride, the Soul EV was named World Urban Car, and in 2023, for the Kia EV6 GT, the title of World Performance Car of the Year.
