After releasing a collaborated travel collection earlier this year, Y-3 and Real Madrid, two powerhouses in their own fields, has teamed up once again to launch their joint Matchwear line.
Y-3 and Real Madrid’s new premium line unites style with the highest level of athletics in a way that is both classic and modern. Inspired by the early days of the partnership between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto—when roses were the graphic of choice and became the distinctive hallmark of the renowned Japanese fashion designer—the creative idea revolves around a signature rose motif.
Designed for Maximum Match Performance
The purple fourth kit for the Real Madrid men’s and women’s teams is the showpiece of the collection. It features moisture-wicking HEAT.RDY technology to ensure that players stay dry while playing on the greatest stage in the world. The purple hue is deeply ingrained in Real Madrid’s history and culture, and it serves as a unifying element in the Matchwear outfit. The collection also includes an anthem jacket, a white pre-match set consisting of a shirt, shorts, and a pair of pants, two goalkeeper outfits (one black and one orange), and the fourth kit.
From the field to the stands, Y-3 has chosen a few exceptional fanwear pieces that embody the label’s expertise. These include a cap, a scarf, a hoodie, a cross body bag, and a T-shirt. Y-3 and adidas will also release a limited-edition Predator footwear and Goalkeeper gloves to go along with the line.
Continuing the campaign shot by Gabriel Moses, a photographer based in London, helps bring the collection to life. Featuring modern-day Real Madrid stars like Naomie Feller, Jude Bellingham, David Alaba and Misa Rodríguez, the captivating images narrate a recreated tale of an unparalleled athletic heritage.
Arriving on 27 March 2024, the Y-3 for Real Madrid Matchwear Collection is available in at adidas.com.sg/y_3-real_madrid and the adidas app.
