Miss Saigon the Musical – Tickets Goes on Sale in Singapore

Tickets to Cameron Mackintosh’s critically acclaimed new production of Miss Saigon, the musical smash by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, are now on sale through Marina Bay Sands Ticketing, SISTIC and Klook.

Miss Saigon, produced in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia and GWB Entertainment, will have a limited engagement beginning on 15 August 2024, at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands.

Starting from 21 February 2024, ticket purchasers who joined the Base Entertainment Asia queue will receive a discount coupon in the mail good for 15% off.

A Multi-Awarded Musical Show

Miss Saigon is widely considered to be among the all-time best musicals. It has won seven major theater prizes, including two Oliviers, three Tonys, and four Drama Desks. With productions in more than 32 countries and 350 towns, Miss Saigon, created by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg of Les Misérables, has captivated audiences of 38 million. The musical has been presented in 15 languages.

Seann Miley Moore who plays the Engineer, leads an outstanding ensemble of artists hailing from the Asia-Pacific region in Miss Saigon. In addition to Miley Moore, Nigel Huckle as Chris, Sarah Morrison as Ellen, Laurence Mossman as Thuy, Lewis Francis as John, Kiara Dario as Gigi, Abigail Adriano joins the cast as Kim, who joins the likes of Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson, Joanna Ampil, Carla Guevara-Laforteza and Eva Noblezada who have played the iconic role of Kim on Broadway and West End.

Miss Saigon is considered as one of the most romantic musicals.

Louisa Vilinne, who was born and raised in Singapore, will be joining the production as an alternate Kim. Vilinne most recently covered the parts of Zoe and Mei in Single Asian Female, a production by the State Theatre Company of South Australia. Miss Saigon marks her first international tour.

Cameron Mackintosh expresses his enthusiasm for the cast, saying that they embodied the spirit of Miss Saigon and understood its relevance to the present day. According to Mackintosh, there is every reason for fans of the Miss Saigon musical to consider this production to be one of the most memorable they would ever witness. He expresses his eagerness to see the cast perform live onstage at the Sands Theatre.

A Romance Set in the Backdrop of War

In Miss Saigon, the musical follows the narrative of Kim, a young Vietnamese lady left orphaned by the war and enslaved to work in the bar owned by the infamous Engineer. There, she meets and develops feelings for Chris, an American G.I., but the fall of Saigon forces them apart. Chris has no clue he is a parent for three years as Kim embarks on a perilous survival trip to reunite with him.

With record-breaking advance sales and critical praise, Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of Miss Saigon launched in London in May 2014. Following its wildly successful US Tour, it opened on Broadway.

Richard Maltby, Jr. and Alain Boublil wrote the words for Miss Saigon, which were modified from Boublil’s original French lyrics; Michael Mahler contributed additional lyrics to the song. Claude-Michel Schönberg composed the music. Classic tunes from Miss Saigon, including American Dream, Last Night of the World, The Movie in My Mind, and The Heat is On in Saigon, are brought to life by a magnificent full 17-piece orchestra.

Laurence Connor is helming the new production, which also has additional choreography by Geoffrey Garratt and musical staging by Bob Avian. Totie Driver and Matt Kinley are responsible for the production design, which is based on an original concept by Adrian Vaux. Andreane Neofitou is responsible for the costumes, Bruno Poet for the lighting, Luke Halls for the projections, Mick Potter for the sound, and William David Brohn for the orchestrations. Guy Simpson and Alfonso Casado Trigo are in charge of the music supervision.

Show Information

Miss Saigon will run from 15 August 2024 at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. Performance schedules will be from Tuesdays to Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm and Sundays at 1pm and 6.30pm.
