Wildfire Burgers is by no means a newcomer to the burger game in Singapore. Burger fanatics have long known it to be a place that serves up gourmet burgers loaded with juicy patties worth all the finger licks at a wallet-friendly price – a goal set out by its founder Michel Lu.
Wildfire Burgers first stepped into the scene nine years ago and its flagship outlet in Robertson Walk has just undergone a period of renewal. Reopened officially on 1 February 2024, it now boasts a swanky new look and more importantly, a refreshed menu lineup.
The robust menu now includes eight elevated burgers, while no doubt retaining its classic multi-award winning Stone Axe wagyu patties. These patties come fresh daily from their neighbourhood butcher, the Butcher Box. Delicately seasoned by hand, these hefty patties are then expertly charcoal grilled up to 500 degrees with a smoky blend of Japanese Binchotan and hickory wood.
Sinking my teeth into their Classic 101 Cheeseburger (Single S$16, Double S$20), the tender beef aside, I relished the butter toasted brioche buns. These buns are from the popular Bakery Brera, and act as a sweet and fluffy base to soak up maximal wagyu goodness, alongside their house-made master sauce and tangy chipotle mayo.
For those looking to switch things up, the menu presents a variety of burger options – pair their patties with crispy bacon and bacon jam in their Triple Bacon burger, or truffle mayo and sautéed mushrooms in their Truffled Mushroom.
You can even opt for alternative meats such as grain-fed lamb, beer-battered black halibut, or crispy fried chicken thigh. Fret not if you have a bigger appetite, as most of these burgers also come with a double option to get twice the flavour hit.
Beyond that, you’ll find that they now offer steaks and sides if you’re looking for a complete meal too. Wagyu lovers can rejoice with the Wagyu MB5-7 that offers 230g of black wagyu strip-loin, elevated by a side of Bordelaise sauce.
Choose from salads or if it’s cheat day, their sides make for good sharing too. Our personal favourite was the crisp Salt and Vinegar Onion Rings (S$8) – so addictive that the bowl was quickly polished off. Old favourites like their Golden Chicken Nuggets (S$8 for 6 pc, $10 for 9pc, $20 for 20 pc) have stuck around, or if you’re feeling fancy, opt for some Caviar and Chips, loaded with 50g of Royal Oscietra Caviar.
Now what better way to wash down these decadent bites than with a couple of drinks? Wildfire Burger’s new menu also includes a new drink selection, offering an array of cocktails, mocktails, beer and wines.
Working with artisanal distillery The Orientalist Spirits, they’ve concocted a range of house signature cocktails like the Shukuwasa Highball (S$16), Orientalist Vesper ($22) and Rum Negroni (S$22). Cocktail classics like Margaritas ($16) and Espresso Martinis (S$22) never go wrong, and are options as well.
We’d recommend savouring these drinks by catching them during Happy Hour that happens daily from 4pm to 7pm. Cheers to your heart’s content with tantalising deals of S$12 cocktails, a selection of draught beers on tap at just $10 pint (including Badgers Hopping Hare Pale Ale, Brains Black Stout), and even offers like a bucket of five Pabst Blue Ribbon beers at S$25 (U.P. S$50).
If work beckons the next day and you have to opt for something non-alcoholic, their rich hand-crafted milkshakes have got you covered, blended with Kapiti ice cream hailing from New Zealand.
There’s just something about no-frills restaurants that utilise unashamedly quality ingredients to get their food right that does it for me – Wildfire Burgers surely is one of them. Starting from just S$16, these sultry creations are waiting to be savoured. Nestled comfortably in the courtyard of Robertson Quay, this surely makes the perfect spot for catch-up drinks with friends, or even your next sizzling hot date.
