Come 1 October 2023, Pullman Hotels & Resorts, a premium brand under Accor group, will open the doors of Pullman Singapore Hill Street. Set amidst the central business and entertainment district of Singapore, this newest Pullman property on the island boasts 350 luxurious rooms and three innovative dining concepts.
Designed by DP Architects of Singapore, the Pullman Singapore Hill Street, the decor and design take inspiration from its location. This brand-new structure stands out as a forward-thinking concept for the area, evident from its contrasting terracotta tiles, pockets of verdant landscaping and expansive glass façade that provides unobstructed views from every room.
A Memorable Experience From Lobby to Room
Pullman Porters and a replica of a historic Pullman Sleeping Cabin serve as the initial point of contact for guests upon arrival. As guests enter the lobby, they will be greeted by a marble and wood walkway lined with vintage carriers from floor to ceiling, as well as elevators of which the design is inspired by days of the past.
After a quick check-in at one of the hotel’s automated kiosks or at the front desk, visitors may make their way to one of the hotel’s 350 rooms and suites, where they can take in views of Fort Canning, the hotel pool, or Marina Bay.
The Pullman Porters, ever ready to go the additional mile for visitors, have become a symbol of the Pullman brand. The Pullman Porters are primarily located in the lobby, but they frequently circulate the common areas to meet the immediate needs of guests. In addition to being the hotel’s go-to concierges, these individuals are also the city’s best sources of up-to-the-minute information on what’s happening and where to go.
Contemporary Rooms Brings an Aura of History
Each room is decorated in the style of a private railroad cabin, complete with plush bedding, an open closet, a desk, and a comfortable armchair that converts into a bed. A sense of adventure is conveyed by contrasting shiny fixtures and brass linings with dark wood and old embellishments. Each room has a Nespresso machine, a Grohe faucet for filtered water, and smart technology that allows for full control over the room’s environment, including the lighting and temperature.
The Executive Rooms, located on the upper levels, have panoramic views of the cityscape and are larger than the Deluxe Rooms at 25 square meters. The ultra luxurious Studio Suite features a bathtub, sofa seating, Nespresso Creatista Plus, and a real tankless filtration system by Wells’ Singapore that provides hot or cold water, anchoring it as the ideal stay.
Murphy beds, when strategically situated, give guests the option of using a room as a living area, bedroom, or both. Choose the Executive Suite, which combines a Studio Suite with a Murphy bedroom (Executive Room or Deluxe Room) for the best in business and pleasure. Connected rooms with either king- or two double beds are available for larger groups or families.
Amenities that Serves a Spectrum of Leisure Needs
The new Pullman facility continues the brand’s tradition of providing guests with memorable experiences by offering a wide range of amenities designed with modern visitors in mind. Guests staying in Executive Rooms or Studio Suites, as well as Platinum and above members of ALL-Accor Live Limitless, have access to the Executive Lounge, which serves as the hotel’s recreation area. The Iron Duke, Shimbashi, Grand Central and Oculus are just few of the dynamic function rooms available to host events ranging in size from board meetings to galas.
The inviting outdoor swimming pool, complete with cabanas and a jacuzzi, invites guests to cool off and spend some time in the sun and water. Power Fitness offers guests Concept 2 exercise equipment, as well as the option of personal training and physiotherapy from Strength Clinic Academy’s certified trainers.
Guest rooms with a view of the courtyard include vegetation that cascades down the walls as a nod to Fort Canning. The walls, which are irrigated by a smart, regulated system for sustainable water management, emanate a calming atmosphere perfect for daytime lounging and glow at night. In the Chef’s Garden, guests can relax with the fresh herbs and delicious flowers that are utilised as garnishes in the hotel’s many dining ideas.
A Taste of Global Cuisines
Pullman diners will soon be able to sample the world’s finest cuisines at three unique eateries along Singapore’s Hill Street.
Madison’s, located on the main floor, is a perfect representation of a classic American deli with its menu of New York-style bagels, burgers and sandwiches. Sarnies’ Grab-and-Go counter offers locally roasted coffee and sandwiches made with bread from Starter Lab Bakery, both of which use naturally leavened breads.
The Porter Lounge, with its ornate golden brass cabin, serves as the focal point of Madison’s. The lounge is a semi-private dining and conference area, complete with a coffee station and a display case full of antique trinkets and barware. Guests would be able to indulge in a sophisticated Signature Dilmah Afternoon Tea, set to be unveiled in March 2024 in the Porter Lounge.
Then there is modern Japanese Izakaya meets cocktail bar MOGA, hidden behind a nondescript door next to the bar. MOGA will give visitors a taste of life’s delights when it opens in November 2023.
The hotel also features El Chido, a Mexican-themed swim-up bar perched on the roof, offering spectacular views of Marina Bay Sands. El Chido, which is open to the public and features an infinity pool, serves Mexican and South American fare, tasty cocktails, and upbeat Latino sounds courtesy of DJ-Dispensary, creating an atmosphere ideal for celebratory parties.
Advocating Sustainability
The Pullman Singapore Hill Street is dedicated to environmental responsibility and incorporates green practices and policies across the board. Solar panels on the roof power the hallway lights and an automated irrigation system ensures that just the right quantity of water is released at just the right moment to keep little patches of green alive.
Each room is equipped with a water filter and reusable bathroom supplies, and the whole check-in and checkout process, as well as all other contacts with the hotel, may be completed digitally and without paper. When sensors in a guest room sense that a guest has left, the lights, TV, and AC will be turned off automatically to conserve energy. The hotel has also teamed up with the food rescue organisation Divert for 2nd Life to give any unused food to those in need.
For stays beginning in October 2023, the Pullman Singapore Hill Street is now accepting bookings. There is an ongoing special promotion until 30 November 2023.
