The Unica Furla Earth Limited Edition is a reimagining of a classic from the company’s archives from the 1990s. It is also the first bag by Furla to be produced from biodegradable leather. In a creative collaboration with Cyclica, Furla brings forth a contemporary elegance formed of colours and craftsmanship, and it draws influence from historical ladies in film, cult movies, and tv programs from the end of the millennium.

Earthly colours blends beautifully with the leather make of the Furla bags.

The biodegradable leather used in the Unica bag is made by Cyclica from European farms and conceptualised by Oleum®. Biodegradable leather is made from food waste byproducts and vegetable tanning wastewater from the oil sector, The process also avoids direct application of aldehydes and glyphosates. Corn, spirulina, logwood bar, and fern are used in the organic dyeing process, rendering the leather free of synthetic chemicals and heavy metals.

Created with love of the planet in mind.

Unica Furla Earth Limited Edition leather is the result of these methods; it is biodegradable, uses no metals, and is safe for the environment.

The Furla Earth Edition as told by Irina Shayk

Furla invited international top model and creative muse Irina Shayk to interpret this one-of-a-kind design product to convey the tale of how this biodegradable new edition came to be. Unica Furla Earth Limited Edition purges the unnecessary by honouring what is essential as a diversifying aspect of the 90’s decade. The brains behind it also experimented with ecological production practices and new leather manufacturing techniques.

The Unica Furla Earth Limited Edition is characterised by a maxi or medium-sized crossbody bag with a sculptural profile softened by delicate curves and highly well-finished features, such as the metallic turn-lock clasp with the stylised arch emblem and the Furla macro letters impressed on the external bottom. Organic colours include mogano (purple), mais rosa (pink), spirulina (azure), and clorofilla (green), as well as deep black and pure white.
