Heads up, connoisseurs of excellent timepieces in Singapore: it’s about time to become a member of an exclusive club.
33 Club, purported to be Asia’s first private members club watch enthusiasts and collectors, has opened its doors in Singapore’s main commercial hub of Raffles Place. Spanning 4,200 square feet over two floors, the private club features a watch display section, a bar, a lounge area and a spa.
At the watch display section, you would find an exceptional selection of rare, contemporary, and historical timepieces. In addition to providing members access to a watch specialist and other “white glove” services, the club also offers a bespoke watch sourcing service.
Members will have priority access to highly sought-after timepieces, including the finest collections from Rolex, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, and others, though members of the public are also allowed to purchase the timepieces.
The inspiration for 33 Club came from its Arich Tan, co-founder and group Chief Executive Officer. Tan desired to create a permanent memorial to the significant moments in his professional life through a curated collection of high-end watches. He envisioned a place where people who have a passion for watches could congregate and enjoy one other’s company. 33 Club became a vehicle to promote traditional watchmaking and its traditions and establish a regional niche in the world of timepieces.
There are also plans to host specially curated events in future for members to enjoy direct access to some of the world’s best watchmakers and timepieces.
Visionary club environment
Syrenka Studio, a multi-award-winning interior design firm, conceptualised a sundial-inspired design to complement the number 33, which means “the rising sun” in Chinese. There is a cosy bar and lounge for members to enjoy drinks and light fare. For those with exquisite palates, 33 Club also offers a variety of premium wines and unique whiskies.
Tan, who has worked in the spa and wellness industry in Singapore for over 20 years, has brought his knowledge to the club by opening a boutique spa on the club’s upper level. Spa guests may expect individualised facials and massages using vegan-friendly products from German luxury brand Dr. Baumann, which will be offered just at 33 Club in Singapore. Both club members and non-members will be able to use the spa facilities.
