From 23 September to 2 October 2022, expect a free flow of superb wine and good conversations at the Penfolds Lounge, a reinvented, whimsical beach bar in the heart of Orchard Road for the Singapore Grand Prix Season Singapore 2022.
The occasion? Penfolds Max’s Rose 2021, the latest addition to Penfolds’ collection of wines, makes its premiere. Guests may mingle among the chi chi crowd while sampling the new rosé, which costs $10 per glass. This will be a preview of sorts, before the Penfolds Max’s Rosé 2021 is even distributed to Singapore’s elite pubs and restaurants.
Concocted as a homage to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert, a revered figure in Penfolds history, the Max’s Rosé 2021 is the product of the cool-climate grapes of South Australia’s Adelaide Hills. This Pinot Noir-dominated combination is fresh and textured with a reserved palate. It comes with a controlled taste dominated by a dash of red summer fruits and a touch of earthiness. Best served cold, between 6 and 11°C, it goes well with grilled fish and vegetables.
The Max’s Rose 2021 from Penfolds stays true to the winemaker’s spirit of pushing limits and innovating. The brand intends to present an exceptional experience through the Penfolds Lounge. One so remarkable, it will entice more individuals to enjoy wine drinking with zeal and spontaneity.
What better way to make its Singapore premiere than in the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere of the Penfolds Lounge? A glass of Penfolds Max’s Rose 2021 is in order as guests enjoy the fun activities planned. To set the mood, the Penfolds Lounge, patterned after tropical beach clubs, will be decorated in salmon pink and Penfolds’ distinctive red, with sunshades, lounge chairs, and tropical plants.
Rosé sighting in Singapore
Singapore will be the first place outside of Australia to get a sight and taste of Penfolds’ new rosé wine. The limited-edition wine was originally featured and later sold out during the Penfolds x DFS Venture Beyond pop-up, held at T Galleria by DFS Singapore back in June 2022.
The Penfolds Max’s Rosé 2021 is presently available for S$69 a bottle online at iShopChangi. It will become available in select restaurants and bars in the coming months.
Wine enthusiasts who purchase any Penfolds Max’s tier at Lotte Duty Free in Changi Airport, as well as early bird ticket holders to the Venture Beyond by Penfolds Singapore event taking place in November this year, will receive a complimentary glass of the Max’s Rose 2021. However, this is restricted to the first 50 redemptions per day.
Aside from fine wine, expect live music to enhance your experience. On Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 7pm, live entertainers such as Staircase Duo, Jason Yu, DJ Mako, Vivienne and Peh will entertain the crowd.
