Scents are known to have a healing effect on one’s mind, body and soul. In aromatherapy, essential oils and fragrance ingredients from natural sources have been used for the treatment of various psychological and physical conditions such as headaches, insomnia, stressed-induced anxiety and depression.
Recognising the important role in scents play in the physiological effects of mood and stress, Singapore fragrance brand Scent by SIX has launched a trio of scents created in collaboration with non-profit organisation Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL).
The range – named The Care Range – was developed over a period of several months together with CAL’s caregiver volunteers, who helped formulate the products by drawing inspiration from their personal experiences. It comprises Care to Focus, Care to Relax and Care to Sleep Better.
Through the collaboration, Scent by SIX founder Jason Lee hopes to create more awareness of the needs of caregivers. “Caring for a loved one or a friend with mental health issues demands a lot from the caregiver,” remarked Jason. Using his expertise and knowledge in fragrance, he seeks to harness the power of scent to improve the mental and emotional well-being of caregivers.
The Care Range features different products such as reed diffuser, scent spray, aroma essence, pillow mist and magnetic diffuser set, with prices ranging from S$22 to S$66. It is available online and at Scent by SIX outlets at JEM, Bugis Junction, 313@Somerset and VivoCity.
