Housed within one of Singapore’s newest lifestyle hotel Hotel G, 25 Degrees Burgers & Liquor Bar is a food establishment known for its all American comfort food and originates from Los Angeles. With the restaurant named after the precise temperature between a raw and well-done burger, I expected 25 Degrees Burgers & Liquor Bar to serve nothing less than good-old, barely-held-together meaty goodness for their burgers.
Beyond the classic component of a juicy patty, the Number One Burger (S$12) came topped with caramelised onions and gorgonzola prelibato. To the uninitiated, the gorgonzola is a delightful velvety sweet but mild cheese.
We also took the liberty to try the Cheesy Mac Attack Burger (S$18) and it is indeed a twist to the classic old American Mac and Cheese. For novelty’s sake, I recommend giving this burger a go as it is only available for a limited period.
The Onion Rings (S$4) is one of the few highlights of the sides menu. Crispy, sweet and incredibly juicy, the golden brown onion rings were among the best I have tasted. A word of caution, though – don’t be too quick to grab one while it’s still hot!
It would almost be a cardinal sin to visit an All-American restaurant and not have one of America’s greatest comfort beverages – the milkshake. I tried the Vanilla Bean Malt Milkshake (S$6.50) but found the malt taste a tad underwhelming. Perhaps it would be a better idea to try the other flavours next time.
Oh, by the way, 25 Degrees Burger & Liquor Bar closes at 3am. Thought that might be good news for all the nocturnal creatures looking for some late night grub.
