If you have missed the first weekend of the Singapore Night Festival 2016, you will have another go at the line-up of activities and performance to immerse yourself in this coming weekend. Two performances by Close-Act of The Netherlands will be performed over at Armenian Street and the front lawn of the National Museum of Singapore. Close-Act uses different performing arts such as dance, music and circus to present street performances.
Starting at 8pm, Close-Act will do a parade of drummers and dancers on stilts. There will also be fire performers bearing hand flares intermixing with the crowd at Armenian Street, just in front of the Peranakan Museum. Let’s Celebrate, the title of the parade aims to welcome and honour positive spirits into our world, just perfect for the hungry ghost month.
Close-Act will then present Invasion, where mystical beings will mingle among the crowds in front of the National Museum front lawn. A dark figure will appear when you least expect it and brings along pre-historic animals into the midst and create confusion and chaos. Then there would be a calm brought about by a magical soothing song. The performance will also be done close with the crowd so expect a very intimate experience as you are led through the whole act.
