Even mooncakes have joined the Dark Side, it seems. This Mid Autumn Festival, opt for these uber-cool Star Wars mooncakes by Mei Xin, a leading Hong Kong brand that churns out reportedly the best-selling mooncakes in Hong Kong for 17 consecutive years since 1998.
The exclusive Stars Wars mooncake set is a collaboration between Disney and the established bakery. It comes in two variations – a Darth Vader set and a white Stormtrooper set.
The Darth Vader set, which of course comes in black, comprises four 45g lave chocolate-flavoured mooncakes baked using premium French Cacao Barry chocolate. The Stormtrooper mooncakes are egg custard-flavoured mooncakes made with premium butter and light cream from France. Each box of mooncakes even come with a specially designed bag.
And fret not – you don’t have to fly to Hong Kong to get these exclusive mooncakes. Currently, Mei Xin has a deal on Groupon Singapore where you can get the Star Wars mooncakes. You can get one set (eight pieces per set) for S$58 instead of the usual price S$104, or three sets (eight pieces per set) for S$165 instead of S$312. The deal started on 21 July 2016.
