District 10 Suntec City prides itself as a steakhouse with the best-priced bistecca alla fiorentina (Fiorentina steaks) in town. With both indoor and alfresco seatings, this charming restaurant which opened a new outlet at Suntec City late last year is no stranger to the working crowd in the area, especially after office hours. To bring the Fiorentina steaks to a wider audience, District 10 now offers an exciting lunch promotion, aptly named the Great Lunch Steak Out.
Starting from early May, guests can enjoy a Fiorentina steak with two of their lunch buddies at just S$45++ per person.
The Fiorentina steaks are usually prepared medium rare to well, but you can always tell the chefs how you want your steak to be done. I liked how the meat was succulent with a bit of bite, and yet not too hard to chew. The marbling was my favourite.
In addition to the Fiorentina steak, the Great Lunch Steak Out also includes a choice of salad or soup of the day.
I opted for the Butter Salad served with Pancetta, Hazelnuts and Eggs. It was a very light salad that was the perfect appetiser for the hearty meal ahead. The dressing was refreshing with just the right amount of olive oil and I liked how the lettuce, tomatoes, and hazelnuts provided crunch.
There was also a choice of five side orders to complement the mains. We ordered the Creamy Truffle Mash (S$12), the Sauteed Creamy Baby Spinach (S$10), and the Grilled Asparagus (S$10).
The Grilled Asparagus was little on the salty side for my preference, but it was neither too hard nor too soft. The spinach and truffle mash were fragrant and soft; it’s pretty much like classic comfort food to me.
Although the portions of the steak and the sides were more than generous enough to induce food coma, I’m not about to forsake the one maxim I live by when it comes to food: there’s always room for desserts.
I like my crème brûlées, like I do my tiramisus, not too sweet. District 10’s Tiramisu in a Jar (S$16) is just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. Being so light, fluffy, and tasty, it really lives up to its Italian meaning of pick me up. As for the crème brûlée (S$12), the crispy torched caramel was a perfect companion to the soft custard beneath it. I would have preferred if it was slightly less sweet.
The Great Lunch Steak Out is happening at District 10 from Monday to Saturday (except public holidays) from 11.30am to 2.30pm, with a requirement of a minimum of three to dine.
