If you’re looking for a truly out-of-the-ordinary dining experience, Quayside Isle at Sentosa Cove may just be the perfect destination for you. Good food always makes for a good trip, and the ambience is a huge plus point – this nautical dining enclave enjoys an impressive setting in the vicinity of ONE°15 Marina and offers an oasis of serenity amidst the hustle and bustle of modern Singapore life. Indulge in the most exotic options, let the calm wash over you and drink in the view of the beautiful yatches, luxurious waterfront homes and scenic marina, almost reminescent of Monaco’s Port Hercule. There is much to do here.
This May, Quayside Isle boasts several new additions to its family of marina-facing restaurants, which add to the already eclectic mix of options offered. Satiate your juice and caffeine fix at the trendy and dynamic Joe & The Juice, and savour some of the best-quality and most exquisite seafood at Greenwood Fish Market, as you bask in the luxurious yet organic atmosphere at Quayside Isle.
Getting Juiced at Joe’s
Preserving a strong concept of keeping things natural, yet still oozing with style and flavour, Joe & The Juice is definitely not your typical juice bar or coffee chain. Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, Joe & The Juice has opened its second Singapore store at Quayside Isle and presents an impressive array of nutritious yet refreshing juice concoctions, perfect for health junkies out there or those simply seeking a midday pick-me-up.
The protein-heavy Power Shake (S$6.90 for 12oz and S$8.90 for 16 oz) is made with fresh strawberries, banana and vanilla milk , and perfect for those looking for something lightly sweet and thick in texture. Go Away Doc (S$6.90 for 12 oz and S$8.90 for 16 oz) marries ginger, carrot and apple in a pleasing combination, excellent for detoxication and restoration of nutrients lost over a stressful week. Broccoli, kale, cucumber and spinach may not be incredibly appealing in a drink, but Green Shield (S$10.90 for 16 oz) surprisingly delights the taste buds, giving you a burst of fibre and energy to power through the day.
While juices take up most of the menu, coffee lovers also have a variety of caffeinated options to pick from, all made from 100% organic coffee beans of superb quality, and may even take things up a notch with zesty ginger shots.
Rather than delivering the typical polite but rehearsed greetings, you will be immediately be blown away by the casual exuberance and infectious energy of the baristas, as they groove animatedly to current dance tracks while slicing fruits and working the juicers behind the counter. A frequent haunt of many youngsters working on creative projects or finishing up their essays for school, the atmosphere at Joe & The Juice is chill and cosy, and you could easily while away a few hours here without even noticing.
“Sea to Table” at Greenwood Fish Market
One cannot deny that the cornerstone of a truly good restaurant is good food. However, Greenwood Fish Market, as its name suggests, goes beyond being just a restaurant – it is also an oyster bar, a fish market and a bakery all rolled into one. With their “Sea to Table” philosophy, you can be guaranteed an extensive range of the freshest seafood sourced and directly imported from all over the world, including more than twenty types of fish, with unique seasonal varieties, shellfish, live Maine lobsters and even Dungenese crabs.
The salmon, trout and mackerel are all smoked in-house, and together with the huge, freshly shucked oysters, grilled squid, octopus and pan-seared scallops, will definitely be a feast for your eyes and a delight for your tastebuds. Though these succulent seafood platters will no doubt steal the spotlight, the pizzas and pastas, and the assortment of freshly-baked bread in the bakery, are also top-notch and worthy of a try as well.
The 4,100 square feet outlet features both indoor air-conditioned seating, as well as outdoor seating overlooking the marina and is gingerly decked with many nautical touches, such as a painstakingly hand-woven fish sculpture hanging overhead and neon light installations, all of which make for a truly unique evening to remember.
