Come 28 May, the hip factor of Keong Saik Road will go up by a few notches. The inaugural edition of Keong Saik Carnival will take place, enlivening the popular street with a street market, live music showcasing local and international vendors and performers.
Organised by the folks behind Potato Head Folk, the one-day event promises to be an exciting day of fun and culture for shoppers and diners alike. There will be a street bazaar featuring popular street fashion labels, designer and collector goods as well as award-winning bars and restaurants. Potato Head Folk will also be taking part in the street bazaar, offering burgers and sides by executive chef Adam Penney, as well as cocktails by award-winning mixologist Mohammed Irwan.
Live performances by musical artistes and a line-up of acclaimed DJs are set to spice up the event too. Two performance stages will feature headlining artistes, including Beijing’s Howie Lee, Shanghai’s ChaCha and Drunk Monk, and Al Rocco and Blow from Shanghainese hip-hop group Busy Gang. Local acts will be also represented by The Observatory, Syndicate, Mr Has, Pushin’On and Attagirl.
