I love dining out. As a self-professed foodie, I would have to say that the best thing I bought this entire year has to be the Entertainer App. You must be thinking, “What? An app?” Oh yes, an app.
To be frank, when I first heard of the Entertainer app through a friend who bought the app. He had bought it for $60 (during an early bird promotion for the 2015 app), and I was pretty shocked. I mean, compared to most mobile apps which cost mostly less than S$3, wasn’t $60 rather exorbitant? But my friend proved me wrong and I soon got the app myself.
So what’s so great about the Entertainer? It is basically a mobile app containing tons of one-for-one deals at many restaurants including high end ones like Fat Cow and Senso. Not only is there food, there are even leisure deals to places like Forest Adventure and Wavehouse at Sentosa.
Since getting the Entertainer, I have been using it rather frequently as I am more incentivised to explore the different restaurants on it. Here is a summary of some of my recorded expenses for December:
Venue | Pax | Bill (S$) | Savings (S$) |
Lunch at The Marmalade Pantry | 6 pax | 141.25 | 78.51 |
Lunch at Kaiserhaus | 4 pax | 84.80 | 54.00 |
Lunch at 1933 | 2 pax | 22.71 | 22.71 |
Dinner at Napoleon | 2 pax | 38.50 | 23.09 |
Lunch at Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant | 2 pax | 42.05 | 36.57 |
I spent a total of $350.50 dining, but at the same time, saved $214.88!
Considering that I really enjoy dining with my friends and family, the amount I saved this month is a rather large sum. What’s more, the app gives me an opportunity to enjoy good meals with them at discounted prices.
Here are some other photos of the meals I have had using the Entertainer App:
If you are a huge foodie like me and enjoy trying out new places with one-for-one offers, allow me to share some tips before you get the Entertainer App:
- Buy the application early in the year. The earlier you buy the application, the longer the duration of time you get to enjoy the numerous deals! I only purchased the application in late July last year. It was indeed a pity that I missed out almost seven months’ worth of amazing deals.
- Do note that the app specifies which meals are at half price. Sometimes, it applies to drinks or mains. So check your offers carefully.
- The number of diners you have determine the number of offers you can use. Let’s say, you have two diners, this means you can only use one coupon. Likewise, four diners mean two coupons, and six diners mean three coupons, and so forth. You can combine offers with someone else and redeem up to four vouchers at each given transaction if you have more than eight people.
- I always make it a habit to inform the staff that I am using the Entertainer App as I order. This is because some waiters tend to process the bill immediately and when you finally show them that you are using the app, they would have to key in the bill separately again.
- For the one-for-one dining deals, the item that is of a lower cost is free. Usually, I would go for those that are more closely priced so that I can get the best deal.
So, that’s about it. Once you start using the app, you will know what I mean.
