Over the weekend before Christmas, I had a staycation at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway. The hotel’s lobby is located directly above the Orchardgateway mall on Level 10, where Makan@Jen, which is renowned for its buffet spreads, is located. The check-in was fuss-free — gone are the stuffy rules of checking in at 2pm and checking out at 12pm! I arrived at 12pm, just before lunch, and the room was already prepared.

We got a Club Room on Level 18 – the décor was simple and modern, fitting in nicely with the cosmopolitan vibe of Orchard Road. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to the room– there it was – a panoramic city view and plenty of personalised touches to make your day.

With the Club Lounge access, we were indulged with complimentary afternoon tea from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, but the highlight was definitely the free flow drinks from 5.30pm to 7.30pm! If you’re a teetotaler, you might want to jump off the wagon for a couple of hours.
