Have you always wanted to take a selfie or wefie with your friends ON Orchard Road itself? I am talking about the road for motor vehicles, not the pedestrian walkway. Here’s a chance to really do so.
Held on the first Saturday of every month, from 6pm to 11pm, Pedestrian Night on Orchard gives the public a chance to walk on Orchard Road itself with all the traffic stopped from entering the road. This event was stopped temporarily in the months of October and November on account of the haze, but now it’s back with a bang! With the malls and Orchard Road draped in all manner of gorgeous Christmas decorations, no less.
We were at the first Pedestrian Night after the haze, which took place on 5 December. The experience was awesome. Check out the photos we took:
There was lots to do that night; one could get free ice cream (we simply needed to download the OneOrchard mobile app for a voucher), free movie and popcorn combos, free pH balancer water, take a picture with Santa, get entertained by a street busker, listen to live music, or just take in all the sights and lights.
Don’t worry if you have missed this event. Pedestrian Night on Orchard will be back again. Look out for roving activities, live music, giveaways and activity zones. Download the OneOrchard mobile app to get your hands on freebies. For more details, visit their website or Facebook page.
