A Decade Of Excellence 2015 by Dithyrambic Singers

Choral music lovers unite! In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the Dithyrambic Singers will be holding a concert entitled “A Decade of Excellence” open to the public. The performance will be held at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on 9 October 2015, and at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) on 17 October (8pm) and 18 October (3pm and 8pm).

The Dithyrambic Singers have been performing at various corporate events, functions, festival seasons, especially during Christmas. They are made up of singers with great vocals – anyone who has attended their performance before has never failed to be amazed by their tip-top performance.

The upcoming concerts should not be missed. It is not often that such performances are available in Kuala Lumpur. It is, of course, good news to many, especially those who are lovers of good music and vocal performances. For those in the mood for good music, the upcoming concerts promise to fulfil your craving with an assortment of pieces that will delight listeners. The Dithyrambic Singers are known for their wide, versatile display of repertoire, both classical and contemporary.

Founded in 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, the Dithyrambic Singers comprise youths with a passion for choral music. Under the direction of Ian Lim Kean Seng, the choir has grown to become one of the leading choral ensembles in Malaysia. The choir has also gained international recognition, claiming several accolades in various choir competitions and has been invited to perform in South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China and Brunei.

In 2010, the Dithyrambic Singers was invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall Distinguished Concerts International in New York (DCINY) to participate in the New York Premiere of the Concert Version of Eric Whitacre’s The City and the Sea. The Dithyrambic Singers has also performed with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in several concerts since 2012, including Andrea Bocelli’s Asia World Tour.
