Tucked in a corner of a busy shopping mall is French confectioner La Cure Gourmande. Stepping into the shop, I was immediately transformed into a kid. My eyes were darting everywhere. Despite its cosy shopfront, La Cure Gourmande is jam-packed with a myriad of confectionaries – olives au chocolat, caramels, nougats, calisson, and not forgetting their homemade biscuits and mantecao.
Founded by Mr. Christian Berlan and Mr. Edouard Hennebert in Southern France, Balaruc-les-Bains in 1989, La Cure Gourmande is renowned for reviving French confections. They take great pride in offering homemade vintage confectionary goods, evoking fond memories and nostalgia in customers, transporting them back to their childhood years.
Here in Singapore, you can look forward to a selection of over 170 confectionary goods. In an effort to preserve the quality, all confections are delicately handcrafted in La Cure Gourmande’s factory in France. And they are sold exclusively at the brand’s shops worldwide. The founders of La Cure Gourmande are involved in every step of the process from start to end, right from assessing the quality of craftsmanship to the choice of premium ingredients, to ensure consistency in quality.
As you walk through the towers of delicious goodies spread across the shop, don’t be shy when you are offered product samples by La Cure Gourmande’s staff. Some of our favourites are the chocolate-filled butter cookies, savoury paprika navette and rose-flavoured nougats. Specially decorated gift boxes and vintage designed tins are also lovingly created for you to house these decadent treats. You will have a choice of purchasing products that are ready-packed or have fun filling a tin of their choice with individual confections.
So treat yourself a little at La Cure Gourmande.
