If you have not yet visited Bōruto, perhaps it’s about time to drop in on this unassuming, discreet place.
In its previous life, this particular unit used to be a bank, and the name Bōruto (vault in Japanese) is a subtle nod to its heritage and location. The newly-opened double-story Japanese izakaya whips up delicious tapas and is stocked with over 80 brands of sake, soju and Japanese whisky. If you’re looking for draught beer, Bōruto serves only the best: Asahi Super Dry. Billed as the beer without the aftertaste, Asahi Super Dry is a fine, clean and refreshing golden liquid.
In August 2015, Bōruto presents a four-course menu at S$75++; part of a series of exclusive collaborations presented by Asahi Super Dry. The offerings are centric around yummy fried items that pairs naturally well with the crispy draught beer.
The four-course menu includes the following:
- Tori Kawa Cheese Salada
- Fried chicken skin & cheese salad with mustard dressing
- Agemono Moriawase
- Deep-fried Hokkaido scallops wrapped in Bacon
- Deep-fried boneless chicken wing stuffed with minced pork and vegetables
- Deep-fried squid tentacles with salted egg white tartare sauce
- Deep-fried tom yum marinated pork belly
- Special Tempura Rice Bowl
- With seaweed, shiso leaf and chilli powder
- Asahi Super Dry Sorbet
If you’ve been craving for quality fried items for a while, give Bōruto a try. While you’re at it, chug a cold pint down, because there’s no better, or faster, way to beat the summer heat here in Singapore.
The Boruto x Asahi Super Dry four-course menu is served with two pints of draught Asahi Super Dry and will be available from 1 to 31 August 2015.
