Located at the newly opened Capitol Piazza in the City Hall area in Singapore, 1933 is the latest F&B concept by the BreadTalk Group, a home-grown international F&B group from Singapore.
The menu at 1933 seeks to recreate a taste of Nanyang, the colonial name of Singapore, bringing patrons back in time to savour the flavours of Singapore in the 1930s. Great effort is put into achieving a balance of Asian and Western flavours for a unique Southeast Asian regional style to reflect the Nanyang identity of migrants in the 1930s that adapted to Western influences.
Diners can look forward to hearty soups served in bread bowls to all-time Singapore favourites like Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice, Grilled Pork Loin, Fish and Chips, or salads and side dishes.

Secret pumpkin soup (S$9.60)
Nanyang Curry Chicken (S$14.90)
For beverages, 1933 boasts a range of milkshakes, each served with a generous scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream as well as specialty coffee brewed with Torrefacto coffee beans served in expresso style.
Milkshakes are all at S$12 each.
A cup of coffee costs S$4 to S$7 each.
There is also a good selection of freshly-baked breads and tasty tarts, direct from 1933’s ovens, perfect for those who love a simple yet satisfying high tea after shopping nearby.

I would love to dine on every one of those dishes shown above, with my dad. This building is one that’ll bring back wonderful memories of his youth. It would be nice to come back here,especially with such lovely local dishes amidst a nostalgic ambience.

My Chinese grandparents gave birth to my parents in SG, and my parents grew up in SG loving authentic SG cuisine, especially Hainanese Chicken rice! Ever since i was diagnosed with a complex medical condition, she has never failed to be there even in my grumpiest days and always finding solutions and things to make me feel better.
