Most people say girls do not enjoy football, much less football video games. However, you can say I am the exception. With the Barclays Asia Trophy Cup happening this week, anything and everything football-related has hit Singapore and you can imagine my delight.
I was at the FIFA 16 media preview at Grand Hyatt Hotel where the Creative Director of EA Sports, Matthew Prior, graced the event on Thursday to share his inspirations behind the game’s creation and secret techniques to ace the game.
If I were to describe Matthew Prior in one word, I would say he is a ‘game-changer’. Despite the many editions of the football game succeeding throughout the years, Matthew never rests on his laurels. Through listening to the views of users worldwide and even being a huge fan of the game himself, Matthew seeks to continually improve all aspects of the game. His goal? To enhance the experience of all fans and users alike, new or old.
As in every game, there is always competition. The Everton FC players, who made a surprise appearance at the event, could not help but try their hands at this highly-anticipated video game. They even pitted themselves against four of the top FIFA game players worldwide in a friendly Xbox competition.
Overall, with its huge gameplay changes, addition of the Women’s national team and user-friendly options for newbies to pick up the game, FIFA 16 does look set to be its best game ever.
FIFA 16 is set to hit the stores in Asia on 22 September 2015.
