Durian is the king of fruits in Southeast Asia. Soon, it may make its foray into the world of Kit Kats.
Evidently inspired by the varied Kit Kat flavours only found in Japan, Thailand wants to introduce a limited-edition Kit Kat in durian flavour. The country is said to have already pitched the idea to Nestlé. The durian flavour was a decision made by Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports for Thailand.
In an interview with Thailand’s Daily News, Minister Wattanavrangkul said that Nestlé’s marketing team will be discussing within the company on the feasibility to produce the Kit Kats as there are other factors to be considered too.
Besides the durian flavour, Thailand is also pitching Kit Kats with mangosteen and tamarind flavours to the company.
Durian lovers, cross your fingers. For the rest of us, we’ll just hold our breath.
