Voilah! French Festival Singapore 2016 Returns to Celebrate the Best of France

Love all things French? Say oui to Voilah! French Festival Singapore 2016, a seven-week event celebrating all the things we love from France – from food to culture to the arts. Happening from 15 April to 31 May across various parts of Singapore, Voilah! 2016 seeks to showcase all aspects of France (it’s not just about Paris, you know) and make the French way of life more accessible to all.

Organised by the French Embassy and Institut Français Singapour, Voilah! will feature free events such as concerts, film screenings and more this year for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of the highlights:

Luminéoles Ballet

The opening event of the festival, Luminéoles Ballet will be a feast for the eyes with giant dream-like LED-lighted birds dancing in an aerial ballet around the Marina Bay area.

Gourmet Picnic and Classic Concert on French Repertoire

Music and food come together for this opening weekend event of the festival. Get ready for an aural treat from the Open String Quartet led by Amaury Coeytaux, super-soloist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.

Transboundary Rivers Exhibition by Franck Vogel

French photographer Franck Vogel presents his photography project to increase awareness of global water issues. There will be 60 photos of Transboundary rivers – The Brahmaputra, The Colorado and The Nile. Vogel will also be giving a conference on 16 April at Gardens by the Bay.

Van Cleef & Arpels: The Art and Science of Gems

Co-curated with ArtScience Museum, the Van Cleef & Arpels: The Art and Science of Gems exhibition will showcase over 450 stunning creations from Van Cleef & Arpels, and 250 gems and minerals from the French National Museum of Natural History Collection.

Gaumont Retrospective

Superstars of Ballet Featuring Stars From Paris Opera Ballet

The top 12 principal ballet dancers from renowned ballet companies, including Karl Paquette, Laura Hecquet and Alexis Saramite, will congregate and perform highlights from famous French ballets such as Giselle, Don Quixote and Le Corsaire.
