There is something about Singapore that makes we want to return over and over again. I recently visited the Merlion City for a quick holiday getaway and stayed at Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore.
I was taken by the hotel the moment I stepped in – the newly refurbished lobby was very welcoming. The contemporary and plush design has a relaxed vibe that is felt throughout the hotel.
The Holiday Inn staff are very hospitable and accommodating. From the check-in process to the point I was taken up to my room, the staff were all smiles. But there is one service I find adorable, every time their housekeeping finish tidying up the room, they leave a little note on the bedside table, one which they would sign themselves. Mine has the name Lara signed on it. I love how the housekeeping staff Lara keeps everything in tip-top shape every time I get back in my room. I guess that’s one thing I will never forget about Holiday Inn Atrium.
The room I had is an Executive Room. Having undergone a recent revamp, the new appearance is sleek and modern. One thing I truly appreciated is that the hotel provides pillow options – each bed comes with two soft pillows and two firm pillows. If that is not enough to make slumber comfortable enough for the guests, the hotel also offers a Pillow Menu with few more selection of pillows for guests to choose from.
What I love most is the work table in the room. It was spacious enough to fit my laptop and books, plus the glass table was chic. I wish I brought some work stuff with me, it would have been really nice to work on that table.
The mini-bar had just about every refreshment I needed during my stay. Requesting to replenish coffee and tea supply is also quick and easy with just a dial to their housekeeping number. The wardrobe is also big enough to fit in my luggage and some other stuff.
The hotel also thoughtfully placed welcoming fruits and a drink.
The bathroom is a bit small, but it has everything that a hotel guest would need.
Since I was staying at the Executive Floor, I had access to the Executive Lounge. I checked out the Executive Lounge during the Happy Hour, which is from 5pm to 8pm. The lounge looked luxurious and was buzzing. Beverages, beer, whiskey and wine were served together with sumptuous canapes, pastries and light snacks that would go well with the drinks.
Breakfast is also served at the Executive Lounge from 6am to 10am. I loved how serene the lounge was in the morning. The staff was very helpful, making sure I had everything I need. One good thing for those travelling with family members is that kids 12 years and under get to stay and eat for free.
Of course, my vacation would not be complete without a swim at their pool. Holiday Inn Atrium has two pools, a small one for the kiddies and a bigger lap pool.
I had a hard time bidding my room at Holiday Inn Atrium adieu, but, all good things must come to an end. Nonetheless, thank you, Holiday Inn Atrium, for making my holiday sojourn in Singapore a memorable one.
