What happens when fine jewellery meets your morning cup of coffee? Singapore jewellery house State Property and homegrown coffee technology company MORNING have come together for an unexpected collaboration that combines craftsmanship, creativity and a meaningful cause.

The two brands have unveiled three one-of-a-kind MORNING coffee machines, each intricately hand-inlaid with mother-of-pearl and inspired by State Property’s The Story of Everything fine jewellery collection.

The exclusive creations are being auctioned online from 14 to 25 October 2026, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Rainbow Centre, a Singapore organisation supporting persons with disabilities and their families.

With starting bids ranging from S$1,150 to S$1,350, the limited-edition machines are as much collectible design objects as they are functional coffee makers.

Behind the collaboration is a rather charming story.

State Property’s The Story of Everything collection was inspired not by an elaborate design brief, but by the imagination of Mika, the then three-year-old son of the jewellery house’s co-founders, Afzal Imram and Lin Ruiyin.

During a bedtime storytelling session, Mika conjured up a fantastical universe in which a young boy and his companion, Captain Lime, embark on an adventure through the cosmos. Along the way, they ride looping railroads, encounter glowing toadstools and search for a mysterious golden egg.

The whimsical tale became the inspiration for State Property’s tenth-anniversary jewellery collection, celebrating childhood imagination and the beauty of seeing the world without boundaries.

Now, three of its distinctive motifs, The Railroad, The Toadstool and The Cosmic Egg, have been reinterpreted on MORNING coffee machines, with the intricate details of fine jewellery translated into delicate mother-of-pearl inlays.

Three Coffee Machines, Three Unique Designs

Each of the three machines features a different motif from Mika’s imaginary universe, carefully recreated through hand-laid mother-of-pearl.

The Railroad

Inspired by the winding railway tracks in Mika’s story, The Railroad features an intricate mother-of-pearl track that curves and loops across both sides of the coffee machine. Each individual piece has been carefully positioned by hand, creating a playful yet precise design that captures the adventurous spirit of the original tale.

The Railroad has a starting bid of S$1,350 and is displayed at MORNING’s New Bahru outlet.

The Toadstool

Taking inspiration from a fantastical planet covered in glowing mushrooms, The Toadstool features shimmering circular mother-of-pearl inlays scattered across the machine’s sleek black surface. The natural iridescence of the mother-of-pearl catches the light, creating subtle shifts in colour that evoke the magical glow of the mushrooms in Mika’s imagined world.

With a starting bid of S$1,250, The Toadstool is displayed at MORNING’s Takashimaya Shopping Centre outlet.

The Cosmic Egg

The most celestial of the three designs, The Cosmic Egg takes inspiration from the star-like gemstone settings found in State Property’s jewellery collection.

Delicate mother-of-pearl motifs are scattered across the coffee machine’s side panels, resembling stars against a dark night sky. As light moves across the surface, the iridescent details create a subtle interplay of colour and depth.

The Cosmic Egg has a starting bid of S$1,150 and is displayed at the State Property boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.

Two Singapore Brands United by Craftsmanship

While fine jewellery and coffee machines might seem like an unlikely pairing, State Property and MORNING share a common appreciation for thoughtful design, craftsmanship and everyday rituals.

State Property, founded in Singapore in 2015, has built an international reputation for its contemporary fine jewellery, which combines Art Deco influences with traditional craftsmanship. Its designs have attracted a celebrity following, including Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Nicole Kidman.

MORNING, meanwhile, has made a name for itself through its design-led approach to coffee technology, turning the everyday ritual of making coffee into a more considered experience.

For State Property’s founders, the partnership also feels particularly personal, having been admirers and customers of MORNING before the collaboration came about.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, the three coffee machines serve a greater purpose. All proceeds from the charity auction will go towards Rainbow Centre’s programmes and services for persons with disabilities and their families. The organisation has worked alongside children and adults with disabilities for nearly four decades, helping them develop skills, build independence and participate more fully in everyday life.

The partnership is particularly meaningful given that The Story of Everything itself was inspired by a child’s imagination, highlighting the importance of recognising and nurturing every individual’s potential. The initiative also aims to raise awareness of inclusion and the importance of supporting persons with disabilities, extending its impact beyond the funds raised.
