Vantage Automotive has opened a new BYD store at Tampines 1, bringing Singapore’s best-selling car brand closer to residents and working professionals in the East. More than another retail outlet, the space introduces the company’s first lifestyle-centric automotive concept in Singapore.
Located within one of Tampines’ busiest shopping destinations, the new store is designed to make electric mobility more approachable and accessible. Visitors can explore BYD’s latest electric vehicles, discover the technology behind them and speak with product specialists while carrying out their usual shopping, dining and leisure activities.
The concept reflects the changing way consumers encounter automotive brands. Instead of requiring customers to make a dedicated trip to a large showroom, BYD is placing its vehicles and technology within an environment that is already part of their everyday lives.
More Than a Car Showroom

While vehicles remain central to the space, the Tampines 1 store has been conceived as more than a place to browse or purchase a car.
Throughout the year, it will host a programme of family-friendly activities, lifestyle workshops and brand collaborations. Matcha-making sessions and cake-decorating workshops are among the activities planned, alongside rotating partnerships with food, beverage and lifestyle brands.
The changing line-up is intended to give visitors new reasons to return, even if they are not actively looking to buy a car. At the same time, the workshops and collaborations will allow BYD to engage with the wider community in a more relaxed and organic setting.
“The future of automotive retail is no longer just about selling cars. It’s about creating experiences, building communities and becoming part of people’s everyday lives,” said Adelene Tan, Managing Director of Vantage Automotive.
She added that the Tampines 1 location presented an opportunity to reimagine the conventional automotive store as a vibrant lifestyle destination, where visitors can take part in curated experiences while learning more about electric mobility.
The concept also places Vantage Automotive among the first automotive retailers in Singapore to establish a dedicated lifestyle and community engagement platform within a suburban mall.
Making EV Ownership More Approachable

For consumers who are curious about switching to an electric vehicle, the store provides a convenient setting in which to learn about EV ownership without the formality often associated with a conventional showroom visit.
Visitors can view selected models from BYD’s electric vehicle range, explore the company’s technologies and speak with product specialists about topics such as charging, daily usage and the wider benefits of sustainable transportation.
James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and President of BYD Philippines, described the opening as an important milestone in BYD’s continued growth in Singapore.
“As electric vehicle adoption continues to accelerate, it is important for us to bring the BYD brand closer to where our customers live, work and spend their time,” he said.
He added that the store would make BYD’s mobility solutions more accessible while providing customers in the East with a welcoming and convenient place to experience the brand’s vehicles and technology.
The opening comes as BYD continues to strengthen its position in Singapore’s automotive market. By establishing a presence in the heart of Tampines, the brand is reaching beyond the traditional automotive retail belt and bringing the EV conversation directly into a major residential community.
The Tampines 1 store will complement Vantage Automotive’s existing one-stop automotive hub at 305 Alexandra Road. While the new mall-based outlet provides a convenient touchpoint for vehicle discovery and customer engagement, the Alexandra facility will continue to support the wider ownership journey with its established showroom, aftersales facilities and service centre.
