A Match Made in Heaven – Lady M Partners With The Macallan Whisky for Its Seasonal Creations

Say mmm to the marrying of two Ms – Lady M and The Macallan, to be more precise. New York-based patisserie Lady M, famous for its signature mille-crepe cakes, has partnered with Scottish whisky maker The Macallan to launch a new seasonal cake in Singapore – a Whisky Dark Chocolate Mousse infused with The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old.

First unveiled in Hong Kong in September last year, the seasonal cake is only available in Singapore from 7 January to 28 February 2021. The partnership between Lady M and The Macallan is a first of its kind. It is an apt one, given the reputation of both brands being hallmarks of luxury indulgence in their own fields – a shared trait characteristic of the brands.

“We chose The Macallan because their dedication to the mastery of wood and spirit results in a distinctive and quality whisky. This parallels Lady M in that we focus on the highest quality ingredients and fine-tuned techniques to create our luxurious, handmade cakes,” remarked Ken Romaniszyn, founder and CEO of Lady M, on the partnership.

While this is not the first time Lady M has featured alcohol in its cake, it is the first time it is collaborating solely with one alcohol brand to create a cake.

The Whisky Dark Chocolate Mousse cake uses premium ingredients from all over the world such as chocolate and cocoa from France, combination flour from Japan and cream from the United Kingdom. It is made up of a layer of whisky jelly with orange zest and two layers of dark chocolate and milk chocolate mousse, set over a chocolate sponge base and crunchy dark chocolate feuilletine. The layers are engulfed in a decadent dark chocolate glaze and topped with dehydrated orange slices.

The Whisky Dark Chocolate Mousse, a new seasonal Lady M creation featuring The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old is available for dine-in and retail at all five Singapore Lady M boutiques, as well as pre-ordered online with islandwide delivery, from 7 January to 28 February 2021. The cake will retail in-outlet at S$18 by the slice and S$180 as a 9-inch whole cake, and online at an online-only rate of S$170 nett for a 9-inch whole cake.
