ANA and Boeing Unveil Star Wars Dreamliner in Everett

It was almost like a scene out of Star Wars. Almost.

At what is possibly the coolest ever aircraft unveiling ceremony, Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) showed the highly anticipated R2-D2-themed Boeing Dreamliner to a cheering crowd and Star Wars theme music at Boeing’s wide-body assembly line facility in Everett, USA on 12 September 2015.

The unveiling on Saturday has been one which has been eagerly anticipated by Star Wars fans all over the world since ANA first announced news of the Star Wars jets in April. The carrier’s first revenue flight will start next month from Tokyo’s Haneda airport.

“We’re thrilled to unveil the designs of our new Star Wars themed planes, and I’m sure fans across the world will love the look,” said Osamu Shinobe, President and CEO of ANA.
