In a city where tasting menus and culinary theatrics often dominate the conversation, there is something refreshing about a restaurant that focuses on getting the fundamentals right. At Cygnet, the stylish restaurant housed within QT Singapore, a new Steak Frites experience is putting the spotlight on one of the most enduring combinations in dining: a perfectly cooked steak paired with golden fries.
Available from Monday to Saturday evenings, Steak Frites at Cygnet is designed for those moments when only a proper steak dinner will do. There are no complicated concepts or gimmicks here. Instead, the offering celebrates quality cuts of beef, endless fries and a touch of unapologetic indulgence.
The beauty of steak frites lies in its simplicity. Originating from French bistros, the dish has long been a favourite among diners seeking comfort and satisfaction without excessive fuss. At Cygnet, that classic formula is elevated through a selection of premium cuts that cater to different appetites and budgets.
Guests can begin with the Classic Steak Frites, priced from $48, or step things up with an Argentinian Ribeye at $78. For those seeking something more luxurious, the star of the line-up is undoubtedly the Ōmi Wagyu option at $108. Widely regarded as one of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious wagyu breeds, Ōmi Wagyu is celebrated for its intricate marbling, buttery texture and rich flavour profile.
Regardless of which cut you choose, one thing remains constant: unlimited fries.
And these are not merely an afterthought. Served hot, crisp and golden, the endless fries invite diners to linger over conversation, order another drink and settle into the leisurely rhythm that defines QT Singapore’s dining philosophy.
Of course, steak alone does not make a memorable evening.
For those willing to fully embrace the experience, Cygnet has introduced an enticing companion offer: freshly shucked oysters available at just $1 each. While oysters and steak may seem like an extravagant pairing, the combination evokes the glamour of classic steakhouse dining, where surf and turf has long been the hallmark of celebration. Guests can enjoy up to 12 oysters per person, available until 7.30pm.

The natural accompaniment? Champagne.
Cygnet offers Moët & Chandon by the glass for $18 or by the bottle for $98, creating an accessible entry point into what feels like a special occasion without requiring a special occasion. The crisp acidity and fine bubbles of Champagne provide a welcome contrast to the richness of both steak and oysters, making it an easy recommendation for diners looking to elevate their evening.
The setting itself plays no small role in the experience. Located within QT Singapore on Robinson Road, Cygnet combines contemporary sophistication with the playful personality that has become synonymous with the Australian-born QT Hotels & Resorts brand. The atmosphere strikes a balance between polished and relaxed — refined enough for a business dinner, yet approachable enough for an impromptu weekday gathering with friends.
According to Matteo Arrigoni, Director of Food & Beverage at QT Singapore, the new dining concepts were designed to give guests the freedom to move through different moments of the day with ease.
“We wanted to give guests the freedom to move through different moments of the day, whether it’s a relaxed coffee in the morning, a generous steak frites in the evening, or an unplanned Sunday that turns into something more memorable,” he said.
That philosophy is perhaps best reflected in Steak Frites itself. It is not trying to reinvent dining. Instead, it celebrates the enduring appeal of a well-cooked steak, great fries and a glass of something sparkling.
Steak Frites is available at Cygnet, QT Singapore, from Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm onwards. Reservations are recommended.
